Privacy Policy
Last updated
This policy explains how Mr. Short Sale LLC (“Mr. Short Sale,” “we” or “us”) collects, uses and shares information when real estate agents sign up for The Priority Access Program™ on this website and use their Priority Access card.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you sign up, you give us your full name, brokerage, email address, phone number and a headshot photo for your card. We resize and re-save headshots when we process them, which removes photo metadata such as the location where the photo was taken.
The sign-up form also asks which Priority Access Advisor (the Mr. Short Sale team member) introduced you to the program. We record your choice, or that you weren't sure, with your other details. If you choose an advisor, we email them your sign-up details (see How we use your information).
Your Priority Access card
We create a unique referral code for you and a personalized card image that shows your name, brokerage, photo (if you uploaded one) and a QR code linked to your referral code.
Referral activity
When homeowners scan your card or send us an inquiry after scanning it, we record that activity and credit it to you. See When homeowners scan your card below.
How we use your information
- To create your referral code and card and to email the card to you.
- To re-send your card. If someone signs up again with an email address we already have, we email the card again to that address only (at most once every few minutes). The person who submitted the form is told that the address is already registered, but we don't show them any of your details.
- To run the referral program and credit homeowner scans and inquiries to you.
- To record which Mr. Short Sale advisor introduced you, so our team can see who brings agents into the program. Only our team sees this; it is not shown to homeowners.
- To let the advisor you chose know about you. When you sign up, we email that Mr. Short Sale team member your name, brokerage, email address, phone number, when you signed up and a link to your card page. When a homeowner sends an inquiry through your card, we email that advisor the homeowner's request together with your name and brokerage, so they can follow up. If you weren't sure who your advisor is, no advisor is emailed.
- To contact you about the program, your card and your referrals.
- To keep this site and the program secure and to prevent spam and abuse.
Your card and card page
Your card image and headshot are stored with our file-storage provider at web addresses that include a random, hard-to-guess part. Your card also has its own page, where you can view and download it. The page shows only your card: your name, brokerage, photo (if you uploaded one) and QR code. Its web address contains the same referral code as your card's QR code, so anyone who has scanned your card or has the link could open it. We ask search engines not to list the page.
We email your card to you through an email delivery provider. The email contains your card and a link to your card page.
When homeowners scan your card
- The homeowner is taken to the Priority Access Program website, where the inquiry form shows “Referred by” followed by your name.
- Each scan, and any inquiry the homeowner then submits, is credited to you and is visible to the Mr. Short Sale team.
- Mr. Short Sale's owners can see scan statistics for your card, such as scan counts, the types of devices used and the approximate locations of scans, plus a list of recent individual scans showing when each happened and whether it led to an inquiry.
Information about homeowners is covered by the privacy policy on the Priority Access Program website.
How we share information
- Service providers that host this website and our database, store files and deliver email for us, under contract.
- Homeowners who scan your card see your name, as described above.
- Legal reasons: when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Mr. Short Sale, our users or others.
- Business transfers: if Mr. Short Sale is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies
This card site does not set cookies when you visit it, sign up or view your card page.
Keeping your information secure
To protect our forms from spam and abuse, we use IP addresses in memory for a short time (usually about 10 minutes) to limit repeated submissions. We do not store IP addresses in our database, but our hosting provider's request logs record the IP address of each visit.
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, and each team member must sign in with their own account to see referral records. No method of sending or storing information is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
How long we keep information
We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, including running the referral program, and for legal and business record keeping, or until you ask us to delete it. We do not currently delete it automatically.
Your choices
- Update your details by contacting us.
- Ask us to delete your information. We will delete your details, your headshot and the stored copies of your card. After that, scans of your card and inquiries from homeowners who scan it are no longer credited to you, and your card page stops working. Printed cards will still take homeowners to the Priority Access Program website.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws; contact us to exercise them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
